Summary
Our crossover with Ice Meets Blood begins. The six strangers from the end of last session are Aellea, Caelan, Modo, Tam, Torgar, and Vareth, and The Piper stole three of their pet dragons. Modo and Tam pulled Theodore, Cal, and Theratina out of the Feywild after a week there, landing the same moment they left, and Theodore found the notebook gone. We split up to check the two taverns the Piper frequents. On the road, Roz prayed with Torgar, began to forgive himself, and used his one returned spell, Remove Curse, to end his lycanthropy. The other watches compared notes: the six prophesied dragons can change shape, Theratina may be one of them, and her revival lined up with the dragons’ growth spurt and red eyes in the sky. The North Tavern had only a man in white robes who said the Piper had hired away all the bards. Outside The South Tavern, Yharov overheard the Piper with Bruce: the Piper is one of The Horsemen, and he means to ride Drakhakar, control The Unknown, and usurp V, whose real name is Veronica.
Events
- Here we begin our crossover with another campaign in our world: Ice Meets Blood
- Roz, Rithas, Raelor (missed this session), and Yharov begin talking with the Ice Meets Blood party
- Supposedly The Piper stole something from them
- They don’t want to talk about it, but they lost “pets”
- They agree to try to rescue Theodore, Theratina, and Cal from the Feywild
- Modo puts on a ring and he disappears
In the Feywild
- Theodore, Cal, and Theratina have been stuck for a week in internal time
- An Orc walks in
- His name is Modo
- Another portal appears outside with Tam in it
- We enter it and exit the Feywild
- We appear the exact moment we left
Back in the material plane
- Theratina meets the folks from Ice Meets Blood
- We tell her not to steal from them
- She promptly returns items she already stole
- Theodore discovers the notebook with a sleeping face on its cover is missing
- We discuss our next steps
- We know there are two taverns that The Piper frequents
- We consider mixing our groups and having half of us visit each
- Before we go, Roz asks Jimmothy his thoughts
- He does not want to say anything
- He tells Torgar Anvilstriker to “let the light shine on this one” (referring to Roz) and immediately leaves
- We split into two groups
- Aellea and Tam both have Sending Stones and Teleportation Stones
- If either of us find The Piper, we will communicate to the other so they can teleport to us
On the road to the taverns
- After some time of travel both groups need to stop and make camp
- We have some time for RP while we rotate watch in groups of 2
Roz and Torgar’s watch
- Roz and Torgar talk about their gods
- Roz talks about how his lycanthropy works
- He also mentions how he has lost his ability to commune with Selûne (and consequently can’t cast his cleric spells)
- Torgar tries to encourage him to connect/pray with Selûne
- They pray together
- On the ground, in a mixture between and sun ray and moon beam, they see an ant
- Torgar suggests perhaps Roz is carrying too much guilt from his transformation in 13-Full Moon > The full moon
- Roz begins growing in his ability to forgive himself
- When he mentions that he “really likes Theodore” a warm moon beam come down
- He realizes he now only has one spell that he can cast: Remove Curse
- He casts it and no longer can turn into his lycanthrope form
Rithas and Modo’s watch
- They talk about their origins
- Modo mentions how he has been to the Shadowfell
- Supposedly he escaped death
- When he arrived there, he was surrounded by cultists burning a tree that he was in
- They were “summoning something”
- Rithas claims that burning trees is uncommon in the Shadowfell
- Rithas says he won’t send Modo back to the Shadowfell (i.e. kill him) but will leave a message: he is not to return if he makes it again
Yharov, Caelan, and Tam’s watch
- Caelan apologizes for egging Theratina regarding her thievery
- Caelan asks Yharov why we took Theratina in
- He talks about how it is something we have struggled with
- Yharov asks more about what was stolen from them
- 3 “close, personal pets” of theirs
- Yharov alludes to the prophesies we heard about 6 dragons
- They also talk about how Theratina is wanted
- Yharov also shares:
- How Theratina died and came back to life slightly aged
- Her ability to learn abilities etc so well
- How she is loving and protective of us
- Caelan asks if we know a man named Gale
- He is supposedly a (high ranking?) member of a group that splintered off of The Council of the Cold Veil
- He also supposedly knows V
- He was after those 6 dragons and they “made sure he doesn’t have them”
- Yharov asks if they know Bruce
- They don’t know him
- Tam mentions they have yet to meet V directly
- Yharov talks about how V likes to toy with us
- For example, The Executioner she spawned
- He also talks about how Theratina simply wants family
- Tam asks more about Theratina’s death/revival story
- They mention the prophesied dragons can change shape
- They suspect Theratina is one of them
- Or, at minimum, part or her enhancements are from them
- They admit that they have pet dragons, and the 3 pets The Piper took were dragons
- It sounds like Theratina’s revival moment occurred at the same moment that their pet dragons had a growth spurt
- They also saw “red eyes in the sky” when it happened
- They also mention at one point that they have “a coin”
- Supposedly not an “evil coin”, but a “good coin”
- Yharov tells the story about our interactions with a Coin of The Unknown
Theodore, Aellea, and Vareth’s watch
- Vareth has a huntsman spider that goes out to hunt in the trees
- Theodore asks about their previous occupations
- They talk about a variety of things including the upcoming war, The Council of the Cold Veil, etc
- Theodore learns that supposedly the dried up magma is preventing the Blood Moon
- Restoration of the lava is necessary to restore balance
- The Blood Moon causes enhancements and Wild Magic for those who know how to harness it
- The dwarfs were supposedly preparing some sort of celebration events for it
Caelan, and Tam finishing the last watch
- They share a vulnerable moment as Tam takes off her Changeling mask
Third watch in The North Tavern’s group
- Rithas wakes up Modo
- He tells him that it’s not his job to send Modo back to Shadowfell
- He also tells him to pledge his life to the Raven Queen
- He says that she can give him eternal life
In The North Tavern
- There is a man clad in armor playing a harp. Poorly
- A man in white robes greets us
- He asks if we are Prophesizers
- An insight check proves he doesn’t want us to be
- He says there used to be bards here, but The Piper hired them all away
- Perhaps these are the 20 people that were with him outside The Sabertooth Tavern
Outside The South Tavern
- Torgar uses Locate Object on his ring
- It is inside
- Tam uses the Sending Stones to tell us
- They are going to come get us
- Roz and Yharov notice Bruce’s black horse in front of the building
- Yharov sneaks up the window and see Bruce and The Piper inside
- Bruce mentions that The Piper is one of The Horsemen
- It is unclear if Bruce is
- “Did I ask you to talk, Bruce? You got your arena. You’re going to get your war with The Silent Fist. Vel Rau’dan will burn just as you wish”
- He goes on to talk about how he wants to ride Drakhakar; it will let him control The Unknown
- He wants to usurp V
- Bruce is scared saying “you know what she is”
- The Piper says to “guard my dungeon” and “not let anyone in here”
- He also finally refers to V as “Veronica” (that’s her real name I guess)
- Bruce tells The Piper that he doesn’t want to fight us if we arrive
- The Piper tells Bruce to guard as he heads to the basement
- Yharov also hears 30 or so arches set up inside
